This is day 6 of us being snowed in apart from on foot over the fields. The snow isn’t going - it’s now frozen solid and we’d need a pick-axe to shift it and we’re a bit too old for that!! It was -5.9c at our door last night and it’s currently -0.6c in the sunshine. It’s a beautiful day though.

Woke up to 11.5cm snow here today near Pendle Hill, Lancs. We’re fairly rural so no gritting on lanes so we’re snowed in and still under an amber warning. We’ve had a mix of snow/sleet on and off all day.

I used to so enjoy looking at the site and trying to understand the weather models and really missed weather-watch when it disappeared - initially I wondered whether I’d been kicked out ...

We had snow here, (northeast Lancs) then it froze, then it snowed again and froze again. It’s all gone now due to 2 days of constant heavy rain but the country lanes were like glass - lethal - and no sign of gritters except on the main roads.
