The UKWeatherWatch team is excited to have relaunched the forum. While we no longer have the old posts, we’re eager to make this new version just as successful as before. If you have any suggestions or ideas, we’d love to hear them and will do our best to bring them to life.

Is there any way of getting the old layout back? If it's a lot of work then it doesn't matter,I know how busy you are, it was just a little easier to navigate

This is going to be a tricky one. The software to add this to the forum is now out of date and no longer compatible with recent versions of phpbb and the one we are using. I will keep looking to see what I can find.

It was just easier when you could see the topics, one click and it was open.

I remember setting it up on the original forum, but Silvor developed a few more features into it.

Just a thought on menus. I tend to leave this site open all the time on my mobile. When I'm looking for 'unread posts' I always go for the 'menu' drop down (top left) rather than the 'account' menu (top right). It seems more logical to me. Any thoughts? Could it go on both?

Second idea! When things go a bit mental (in a couple of weeks and then all winter, touch wood!) can the Autumn/Winter Chat page be pinned at the top of other pages? It might help the mods encourage people (aherm... Guilty as charged, M'Lord Kev!) to stay on topic!

No worries if neither are possible though!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the suggestions. Development is currently on hold as I’m in the middle of preparing to move to Cornwall in early January. Once I’m settled, I’ll be picking things back up again. There are several areas that need attention, including continuing work on the charts, so I’ve added your ideas to the to-do list, but it will likely be sometime next year before I can get to them.

On another note, have you ever considered becoming a moderator yourself? We’re still looking for people to help out with the site and to encourage both existing and new members.

Cornwall is lovely, one of two places I would move to if I had to move down south (the other being York).
However, you can kiss any snow goodbye! :D

It was considered lol, but great fishing and much more peaceful than here. They are firework mad here, with somebody letting them off every single night. I am sure I will enjoy looking at Kev's snow pics as an alternative.
