Spring / Summer Model Outlook 2026

Post by Andee »

It’s always a little sad to say goodbye to winter, but if we’re honest, this past season never really felt like one. Aside from a brief spell of more wintry weather back in November, the rest has largely been dominated by mild conditions and plenty of rain.

With that in mind, it’s time to turn the page. The Autumn & Winter 2025/26 thread has now been closed, and we move forward with the Spring & Summer 2026 discussion.

Let’s hope the months ahead bring something a little more settled than the washout we’ve seen recently. 🌦️

For those fed up of this drought (im sure there are 1 or 2 out there😁), this week looks more unsettled and cooler as winds swing more north west and weak bands of rain move south east...no deluge but it will feel more March like as temperatures return to single digits...

Im keeping my eye open for what currently is looking like a settled spell once again around easter weekend.

What the models are doing at the moment is pulling the Azores high north over the UK during the Easter period...the further north, the risk of cold weather increases...great news in January, not so sure in April...ECM day 10 joining the trend...

Hopefully gfs has lost the plot somewhat for Easter weekend.....

Putting the gfs Storm aside...not looking as promising for Easter as it was a few days age...no washout but no heatwave....basically unsettled!

A getting better Easter weekend on the cards...damp, drizzly and breezy on Friday and Saturday for most, better Sunday, then a lovely warm and sunny day Monday with a southerly draw before more rain pushes in Tuesday.

Mondays chart...

A slight change to the ubove post, it now looks like the warm settled spell will be extended until Thursday, with mid week seeing temperatures in the 20's for most :o

High pressure due to build to the north of the UK from the weekend. Expecting a dry spell, plenty of sunshine but not especially warm next week.
