Hype Charts
Excitement. Hype. Model outputs with no context. Far out models. NOT forecasts or proper analysis.
Best of the best. Just for fun.

Re: Hype Charts
Nice wet Northerly for 9 days out, (all be it fleeting). Probably wont come off but just glad we are at a part of the year where it's possible to get such charts.

Re: Hype Charts
Couple of interesting far our charts. One for Week Monday which would bring probably not low lying snow but lots of white stuff for the ski resorts. And one for Friday that week, which looks colder so possible low lying snow.
Again, just cherry picked charts in isolation. Very unlikely to materialise like this but worth keeping an eye on next week to see what actually develops. Possibilities there for fleeting snow, no blocking showing yet.

Re: Hype Charts
Still showing some possibility for (fleeting) snow (maybe sleet) for next week. If you are higher up the better the chance.

Re: Hype Charts
Is this something? Keep seeing it on the GFS but nothing on the met or bcc forecasts yet.

That looks fantastic. I'm in southern Thailand from 1st till 11th. Knowing my luck I'll miss the snow!KTtom wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 11:58 am This is what we need...cut off Atlantic high polor vortex over Scandinavia, straight northerly! Shame its 324hrs away![]()

Re: Hype Charts
Something certainly being sniffed out by the models for early Jan with the Atlantic ridge / Scandi trough combo...gfs this morning sticking with this idea right at the end of the run, also noted Met talking up cold early Jan in their extended forecast...

Re: Hype Charts
Sadly, too early in the season for the vast majority of the UK , but building blocks nicely in place with an early snow cover for eastern europe... this is what we are lookng for in mid winter...Greenland high, deep Scandi trough..

Re: Hype Charts
Quite a spectacular end to the gfs this morning with a lobe of polor vortex detaching itself from the pole and sinking down western Europe... IF it did come off as shown, even for late November it would likely deliver one of the coldest November spells in decades!

Re: Hype Charts
Net weather's snow forecast is onboard!

And the (notoriously unreliable) snow depth shows potential (for being wrong again)!
