Hello everyone! I’m Andrew, and I’d like to share a bit of history about my involvement with UKWeatherWatch, formerly known as Snow Watch. This all started when Frances launched the original Snow Watch forum back in the days when the BBC had its own message boards, including one by that name. After a few years, Frances was unable to continue running the forum. Since I had the ability to take over and host it, I stepped in to help, teaming up with Kevin (also known as KTtom). Together, we worked hard to grow the forum’s community, encouraging more people to join. Eventually, our efforts paid off.

Over time, we decided to expand the focus beyond just snow and winter weather. To encourage activity year-round, we rebranded the forum as UKWeatherWatch, and it quickly became a success. However, life threw some challenges my way, and I too had to step down from running the forum. Kevin and Silvor took over and did an amazing job keeping things going, though my visits became less frequent over time.

Earlier this year, in 2024, I decided to check in and was saddened to discover that UKWeatherWatch was no longer active. It felt like the end of an era, and I had lost contact with many of the old members. Out of the blue, I received an email from Kevin. He mentioned that he had been getting emails from Missey, asking for the forum to be restarted. Unfortunately, Kevin didn’t have the technical experience to bring it back to life, and he was unsuccessful in persuading Silvor to take it up again. As a last resort, he reached out to me.

After some effort, I’m happy to say that UKWeatherWatch is back! Unfortunately, we’ve lost all of the old posts, but the forum is up and running again, ready to welcome old friends and new members alike.
