Winter 2025 / 2026 - How was it for you?

Post by KTtom »

Weird winter here. The most snow ive seen for a few years fell via a northerly in November..technically still Autumn! Another slight dusting in January, again from a northerly. Cant really recall a single hard frost, and since the turn of the year especially, its been wet!
Model wise, the synoptic pattern has been as promising as its been since 2010, but it never quite backed far enough west to affect the UK. Scandinavia has had record cold and snowfall all winter.
Over all 5/10

A strange one here too - only really had 3 or 4 1-day snow lying on the ground events. We didn't get anything during the 1 real cold spell, as the wind was the wrong side of North for us here.

5/10 is a fair score here too

Utter bobbins here. A few hoar frosts. Two icing sugar dustings of snow but mainly just cold or very cold rain. We were under an amber warning for snow from the Met Office and it just widdled down. Extremely disappointing.

Yet another episode in what now feels like a fairly long sequence of rubbish winters, alas.

Not a total blank for me in the South Wales Valleys, only one day of being unable to get the car up the heads, or down the hill from Blaenavon, but certainly not one to remember! Still got April to go before I write off any further snow fun this year....

Diabolical here. Zero flakes of snow all winter. Rain, rain, wind, rain, wind, rain, rain. Still horrendous to this day! Can't remember less sunshine across a 5 month period as this. Mad. Everything outside is thick with a layer of moss and algae, all surfaces. It's like another planet. 1/10

Have you moved from Glasgow? I thought Scotland had done well this winter?

Haven't moved! Nope, not a single flake of snow all winter. Couple of frosts. Minimum -4. Other than that it's been the greyest, miserable winter I can every remember.
